ESSENCE OF TANZANIA SAFARI

Looking for a small group East African safari to join, or a private departure with a group of your friends or family? Then consider a road safari in northern Tanzania on this 7-Day adventure through the world famous Serengeti National Park, the UNESCO Ngorongoro Crater and lesser known, yet wonderful Tarangire National Park.

This is a fabulous safari for those wanting to experience the highlights of the region in a small group, with a maximum of seven people in the vehicle. The safari includes three nights in the Serengeti National Park. You will be staying at eco-friendly, solar powered tented camps in the Serengeti – the Wilderness Camps, and with only 10 Explorer style spacious tents and ensuite bathrooms, you will find tranquility, friendly staff and personal service in these pristine areas of the Serengeti. Should you wish for a longer and slower paced safari this can be tailored accordingly.

Tarangire National Park, after the Serengeti, has the second greatest concentration of wildlife in Tanzania. Large herds of elephants and plains game can be seen and not surprisingly the predators follow. Tarangire is also known for its spectacular baobab trees, and its breathtaking views. Just a two hour drive from the town of Arusha where the trip starts, Tarangire is a perfect stop for safari goers travelling through to Ngorongoro and the Serengeti.

The Ngorongoro Crater is not to be missed on any safari in Tanzania, and it is not surprising that it is one of Tanzania’s major tourist draw cards. Down on the crater floor, you will witness the daily wildlife drama unfolding as large herds of zebra and wildebeest graze close to lions, leopards, elephants and black rhinos.

Undoubtedly one of the most famous wildlife sanctuaries in the world, the vast plains of the Serengeti host Africa’s highest concentration of animals. Millions of wildebeest, gazelle and zebra gather here for the annual migration, attracting large predators such as lion, leopard, and cheetah, as well as hyenas, jackals and the other opportunists. The image of the Serengeti with its acacia trees, rocky outcrops and endless plains epitomises Africa for many and the annual wildebeest migration between the Serengeti and the Masai Mara in Kenya is the largest mass movement of land mammals on the planet.
